MHC BOYS HOOPS - David Douglas holds off late Barlow push to win finale
by: Kris Anderson Taye Baker of David Douglas looks to make a move against Barlow defender Brad Bourgeois in Wednesday’s finale.

David Douglas wasn't going to stay away from the paint.

That forced the jump-shot Barlow Bruins into a physical contest. The Bruins kept the game in their hands of their shooters, but in the end, it was the Scots game plan that led to a 63-60 win Wednesday night. The win also gave the Scots sole possession of second place in the regular-season finale for both teams.

'(Barlow) does a good job of knowing what we're running,' Scots' head coach Chad Reeves said. 'We felt we had a couple match ups where we could get guys into the paint, so we just rode that for a while.'

The Scots' desire to drive the lane led to numerous fouls, and a 21-point edge at the free-throw line. The Scots went 22 for 32 (.688) at the stripe, while Barlow made just two trips to the line.
