by: David Ball David Douglas forward Adrian Koza looks for room to pass against Westview's Keon Burns during the Scots 54-53 win Saturday night in the second round of the 6A playoffs.

The David Douglas boys basketball team punched its ticket to the Rose Garden on Saturday night with a 54-53 win over Westview in the second round of the OSAA 6A state playoffs.

The Scots faced overall #1 Jesuit in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rose Garden.

David Douglas held a slim lead throughout Saturday's game sparked by the sharp-shooting of senior Tanner Adrian, who had six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points.

Still, the game was undecided into the final minute.

The Scots were 6 for 6 at the line in the final minute, but the game remained in doubt when Westview's Dyrall Goods raced down court and hit a 3 to cut the gap to a single point with :04 on the clock.

A pair of missed free throws at the other end gave the Wildcats a desperation chance at the win...
