The Barlow girls advance to the 6A playoffs with a 43-40 win over the Pacers

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Barlows Haylee Hutzler works to box out Lakeridge center Maddie Rabing during the Bruins play-in victory Friday night. The Barlow girls basketball team overcame a six-point deficit late in the third quarter to beat Lakeridge 43-40 in a play-in qualifier Friday.

Brooke Trammell got bumped on a rebound, but still managed to hit a 12-foot jumper from behind the backboard to put the Bruins ahead to stay 36-34 with 5:03 to play.

Lakeridge stayed within striking distance down the stretch, but Barlow maintained its lead largely with senior Bethany Leliefeld knocking down three foul shots in the final minutes.

The Bruins (14-9) earned their way into the 6A bracket, which gets under way Tuesday.

David Douglas scored a 55-53 win at Century to give the Mount Hood Conference five playoff teams.
