CLACKAMAS — The Centennial minors softball team hit their stride just in time to steal an 18-14 win over host Clackamas to claim the District 2 championship Tuesday night.

The Eagles found themselves down 9-1 after the first two innings, but started their climb back with a six-run, third inning that saw five straight hitters reach base.

The Eagles pulled in front in the fifth inning when Zoey Young hit a single through the middle to bring in Gianna Lopez with the go-ahead run.

Centennial would go on to build an 18-10 lead heading into Clackamas' final at-bats.

The Eagles advance to the ages 8-10 state tournament, starting Wednesday in Medford.
