Motorist should find alternative routes on Nov. 2 and 3

Drivers should expect long delays on Evergreen Road in Hillsboro between Brookwood Parkway and 25th Avenue on Friday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 3.

County transportation officials are urging motorists to use other routes on those days, such as Cornell Road or Highway 26.

The delays will be caused by paving work scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. both days. During this work, a single lane of traffic in each direction will generally remain open on Evergreen, but delaus of 20 minutes or more are expected.

The work is part of a project that is widening Evergreen Road between 253rd and 25th Avenues to two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. Additional improvements include the installation of buffered bicycle lanes and sidewalks along with a new pavement overlay between 253rd and Brookwood Parkway.
