Public invited to Veterans Day event at Washington County Fair Complex

The public is invited to a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Washington County Fair Complex.

It will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Northeast Veterans Drive and 34th Avenue in Hillsboro.

The event, sponsored by American Legion Post 6, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2666 and Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, will honor all of our nation's veterans.

Veterans with ties to Washington County who have died in service since September 11, 2001, will receive special recognition with the unveiling of engraved memorial stones.

Gold Star Families also have been invited to attend. These families receive the Gold Star Lapel Button from the Department of Defense for the sacrifice of their loved one.

Brigadier General Eric C. Bush, Commander, Land Component Command, Oregon National Guard and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-Dist. 1) are scheduled to speak.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will take place rain or shine. Attendees may park in TriMet's lot at the Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport MAX Station.
