Hillsboro hires Economic Development Director
Mark Clemons chosen over 44 other applicants
The City of Hillsboro has hired a new Economic Development Director.
He is Mark Clemons, an Associate Principal/Director of Project Development at the Group Mackenzie consulting firm who formerly worked as Director of Economic Development at the Portland Development Commission.
Forty-five people applied for the job and four finalists were interviewed. Clemons was chosen in part because of his extensive business development, strategic planning, land use planning, community relations, project management, and marketing and business communications experience.
Clemons is scheduled to begin work on Jan. 14, 2013. The longer than usual start date is due to commitments to his current employer.
