DEC. 23

A red 2000 Volvo with a giant butterfly sticker in the back window was stolen overnight from the 6000 block of Northeast Alder. The owners left the keys in the vehicle.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on a probation violation at the Albertson’s gas station on Northeast 25th Avenue. The man was harassing the gas station attendant and was intoxicated.

The Volvo reported stolen earlier in the day was recovered in the New Seasons parking lot with the driver’s side window down. The vehicle had been ransacked and several items were missing from the vehicle, including a laptop and iPad.

A man attempted to gain access to the How How Restaurant at 1895 S.E. Tualatin Valley Hwy. after the doors were locked. The man caused damage.

DEC. 24

An unknown subject took the Girl Scout donation box off a table outside the Barnes and Noble store on Northwest Evergreen Parkway.

Four tires were slashed overnight in the 20000 block of Northwest Trailwalk.

A man reported that a stereo, amp and hunting knives were stolen from his vehicle that he left parked overnight at Shonna’s Pub, 1823 S.E. Tualatin Valley Highway.

A man and woman were robbed while taking a midnight walk in Dawson Creek Park. The two reported they were confronted by two Hispanic males wearing dark clothing and showing a knife and a pipe. Suspects took the female’s purse, the male’s wallet and both cell phones. One of the suspects then hit the male victim over the head with the pipe a few times and fled in an unknown direction. A K-9 track was unsuccessful.

DEC. 26

Hillsboro police assisted Hillsboro Fire & Rescue in the evacuation of an apartment complex with 25 residents in wheelchairs. Hillsboro Fire was able to contain the fire to a couple of apartments.

A man was taken into custody on multiple charges after a car chase. Trevor Lee Johnson, 22, was seen screeching into the How How Restaurant parking lot at 1895 S.E. Tualatin Valley Hwy., then throwing things from one vehicle into another. Upon police arrival, Johnson fled in a vehicle. Officers attempted to stop him and a pursuit ensued into Cornelius and back. During the pursuit Johnson attempted to ram police vehicles with his large truck. Johnson’s vehicle was spiked but continued to drive to just east of Winco, where he crashed into a pole. Police found a gun, meth, packaging material, and cash.

DEC. 27

Graffiti was reported at five separate locations in the vicinity of Southeast Frances Street and Southeast Century Boulevard. Tagging is red, white and blue, not gang related.

A road rage incident was reported near Baseline and Tenth Avenue. The victim reported that the front passenger in a vehicle pointed a gun at the occupants of the other vehicle. During a felony car stop of the suspect vehicle at Northeast Cornell and 34th Avenue, police found a pellet handgun under the front passenger seat. The driver and front passenger were arrested.

A man and a woman were arrested after swapping their shoes for new pairs at Nordstrom Rack, then resisting apprehension.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested after being observed collecting discarded receipts outside the Target store on Northwest Evergreen, then selecting items that matched the receipts and returning the items for cash using the discarded receipts.

DEC. 29

Officers saw a group of teenagers on the Miller Education Center school grounds. One juvenile appeared to be holding a rifle and another had a handgun. Officers attempted contact with the group but they fled. Containment was established and all five juveniles were located and detained within the school grounds. Guns were determined to be air-soft toy guns. Juveniles were released to their parents.

Three separate incidents of shattered vehicle windows were reported in the 200 and 300 blocks of Southeast 39th Avenue.

Dec. 30

A woman reported that her brakes failed while attempting to stop for two MAX trains crossing Southeast Washington Street at Tenth Avenue. Her car careened off the westbound train, causing minor damage to the train and the car. One man on the train was injured.

A 12-year-old male, on a dare, broke the sensor on the fire sprinkler at A Safe Place for Youth, 454 S.E. Washington St., causing major water damage to the room and structure.

Dec. 31

Vehicle tires were slashed overnight in the 1800 block of Southeast Minter Bridge Road.

A male subject was reported walking down Southeast Montego Drive at Southeast Brookwood Avenue and breaking mailboxes. The suspect was seen getting into a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 1

A vehicle driven at a high speed lost control in the curves just north of Cornell on Brookwood. The vehicle left the roadway, damaging shrubbery, then crashed through a fence and came to rest within the airport grounds. The driver was transported to the hospital and cited for reckless driving.

A canopy was reported stolen off a pick up truck in the 600 block of South First Avenue.

Jan. 2

A house window was reported shot out by a bb gun on Southeast 21st Ave.

Jan. 3

The front window at MIR Music, 331 E. Main St., was shattered.

A man was arrested on a warrant and possession of methamphetamines in the 1500 block of Southeast 21st Avenue after he was stopped for lighting off an illegal firework.

Jan. 4

Several incidents of graffiti were reported in the area between the 1100 and 1300 blocks of Southeast Maple, Walnut and Oak streets.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the street in the 100 block of Northwest Rachel. The call was updated to shots fired in a residence. Officers contained the residence quickly and rear containment challenged two subjects in the back yard. The residence was cleared and no evidence of a gun or a shooting was found. Officers arrested a 22-year-old man on a felony warrant.

Jan. 5

A vehicle rack and new kayak were found in the field at Northwest Wilkins and Northwest 231st Avenue.

Several incidents of graffiti were reported in on Southeast Johnson Street between the 6500 block and the 7200 block.
