Deputies on lookout for bear statue

A carved wooden bear statue weighing more than 200 pounds was stolen Jan. 5 from in front of a Cedar Mill home.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help recover the statue, which is about five feet tall and is colored gray from weathering. Deputies suspect it took more than one person to carry the statue off.

The statue was reported stolen from 1080 N.W. 102nd Ave., which is in the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District. It was purchased in 1996 for $1,700.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office, 503-629-0111.
