Worker at senior living center arrested
A worker at a Hillsboro senior living center has been arrested for stealing from a resident.
James M. Eldridge, 18, was booked on three counts of Criminal Mistreatment I and three counts of Theft III.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, in early January, deputies received information that someone was stealing cash from a resident's room at Rosewood Specialty Care, located at 2550 SE Century Boulevard in Hillsboro.
With the resident's permission, deputies set up a surveillance camera and were able to record video images of Eldridge taking money that belonged to the resident. He was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Eldridge, a Hillsboro resdient, had been working at the facility for a short time. He was employed as a general helper and did not provide medical services to the residents. He has since been terminated as an employee of the company.
At this time, Eldridge is only being charged with stealing from a single resident. If anyone has any further information regarding this case, please contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division at 503-846-2500.
