According to North Plains Police Chief Bill Snyder, the president of the local Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) has been arrested and charged with five counts of alleged theft.

Snyder reported that on March 15, a Washington County grand jury indicted Nikki N. Robinson, 45, who lives in North Plains, and charged her with five counts of theft in the first degree. The grand jury’s indictment alleges that Robinson took an undisclosed amount of money from the North Plains Elementary School’s PTO as well as from a local Girl Scouts troop.

The North Plains Police Department arrested Robinson on the evening of March 15. She was lodged in the Washington County Jail and later posted bail.

Snyder said the investigation was ongoing and no further details would be available at this time.
