Hillsboro police arrested a 50-year-old father Friday for firing a handgun in the air when he discovered his daughter's boyfriend in her room.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Ebraimi Jamshid, 50, is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangering, and Menacing. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail.
According to Hillsboro police, officers responded to a shots fired call at 610 N.E. Sundance Ct. on April 5. After they arrived, the officers learned that the male homeowner was alerted to an alarm from an exterior door. Upon investigating, he discovered that his daughter's 17-year-old boyfriend was in her room. She is 15 years old.
The alarm was tripped as the boyfriend entered the residence after being invited in by the daughter. The homeowner fired two rounds from his .357 revolver into the air as he yelled for the boyfriend to leave the house.
The boyfriend fled through a window and the daughter left through a door and ran to a neighbor's house, where she called 9-1-1.
