Tanasbourne Farmers' Market opens

The Hillsboro Farmers’ Market in Tanasbourne opens next Wednesday, June 5. This mid-week market is open from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the Whole Foods parking lot on Cornell Road.

The opening day will feature approximately 20 farms, nurseries, bakeries, artisans and hot food vendors, including customer favorites such as Egoroff Farms and newcomers like Heather’s Cane Juice. The Tanasbourne Farmers’ Market hosts a different local band or musician every week. On June 5, customers will enjoy lively rock music by students from the Five Star Guitars All Star Band.

Four cuisine and culture festivals, each supported by a grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council, will celebrate the diverse culinary and cultural traditions that shape Hillsboro’s food scene with music and dance performances, free children’s crafts, sampling by local food producers, and a hands-on cooking lesson by Whole Foods Chef Melissa Vanbebber. The four themes will be: Indian (June 19), Middle Eastern (July 10), Pacific Rim (July 31) and Latin American (Aug. 14).
