One person died and two others were hospitalized in a multiple vehicle accident that closed Cornell Road at 48th Avenue for three hours on Thursday.
The names of the victims were not immediately available.
According to Hillsboro Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Rouches, at 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 3, a 52-year-old man was driving his white Chevrolet pickup truck west on Cornell approaching 48th when he suffered some sort of medical emergency and lost control.
The truck crashed into a Plymouth minivan that was turning left on Cornell from 48th. This started a chain reaction that caused four other cars to crash.
Rouches said the the man who caused the crash was pronouced dead on the scene as a result of his medical issue. Two other people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the other cars.
