Dick's MacKenzie Ford nominated for 'dealer of year' award


Shannon Inukai-Cuffee, owner of Dick’s MacKenzie Ford in Hillsboro, was recently nominated for the 2014 TIME Dealer of the Year award.

Inukai-Cuffee is one of 57 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 97th annual National Automobile Dealers Association Convention and Exposition slated for January 2014 in New Orleans.

The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. Recipients are among the nation’s most successful auto dealers and those who demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.

Inukai-Cuffee began selling cars at age 19. She was named general manager of Dick’s MacKenzie Ford in 2005. Her father, Dick Inukai, was dedicated to community service and Inukai-Cuffee carries on that legacy.

She is a member of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors and supports many groups, including Self Enhancement Inc., Hospice & Palliative Care of Washington County, Oregon Food Bank, Children’s Cancer Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, Hillsboro Schools Foundation and the Backpack School Lunch Program.

Coffee sales boost breast cancer efforts

Human Bean’s annual “Coffee for a Cure” recently raised $2,600 to benefit education, outreach and treatment for patients with breast cancer at Tuality Healthcare.

“We always look forward to this wonderful event,” said Cece Clitheroe, director of Tuality Healthcare Foundation. “I extend a big thank you to The Human Bean and to all those that supported this great cause.”

Forty-five of the 50 Human Bean franchises took part in the annual event, raising $108,800 to aid various breast health programs.

“The people of Hillsboro and Cornelius are extremely generous; thank you for helping us to provide great services and care for the many patients dealing with breast cancer,” said Jackie McGrath, marketing director for The Human Bean corporate office.

Howell named Parr’s director of operations

Parr Lumber has named Mike Howell as the lumber company’s new director of operations.

Howell, who most recently served as a district manager for the Hillsboro-based company, joined the company in 1997 as a truck driver and spent the next 16 years in various roles within the organization, including door and millwork sales, contractor sales and serving as yard manager at various locations.

Headquartered in Hillsboro, Parr is the 18th largest building material supplier in the nation.
