An Aloha High School business and marketing teacher turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning following allegations that he had sexually abused a former student. Wise

Eric Wise, 37, who has worked for the Beaverton School District since 2006, was arrested and charged with sex abuse II and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

According to Sgt. Vance Stimler, public information officer for WSCO, Wise’s case will be heard by a Washington County grand jury.

“Earlier this month, concerned citizens came forward to report suspicions that … Wise was involved in a sexual relationship with a former student, who was underage at the time,” Stimler said, adding that Wise had been the alleged victim’s teacher for several years.

School district officials “cooperated fully” with the investigation and placed Wise on administrative leave when the inquiry began, said Stimler.

Wise was lodged in the Washington County Jail and later posted bail. His next court date is Friday, Jan. 31, at 8:30 a.m.
