'Villages' session set

An informational meeting for folks who want to learn more about a new nonprofit called Villages NW — a “model for thriving as we age in our own neighborhoods and homes,” according to its website — is set Sunday, Feb. 2 at Hillsboro Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Villages have sprung up across the nation, and local volunteers are working to start one here,” said Kathy Foldes, an information session organizer.

Villages NW’s mission is to enable more Pacific Northwest residents to successfully age-in-place by developing and nurturing a network of sustainable, community-based villages throughout the region.

A local arm of Villages NW, based in Hillsboro, Cornelius, Forest Grove and Aloha-Reedville, is called Village Without Walls.
