Sale l The Friends of the Banks Public Library is hosting its annual Plant, Book and Art Sale. Local crafts and garden art, a broad selection of plants and used books. Vegetable starts, annuals, perennials, planters, herbs and trees. Schlegel Hall in Sunset Park. Friday, 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Credit cards accepted. Burnt Ends BBQ will offer beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches for sale Saturday. Place pre-orders at the library by May 2.

Class l OSU Extension Master Gardener Jerry Anderson and Tualatin Valley Garden Club member Dave Russell will demonstrate using recycled and reclaimed materials to maximize garden space. Vertical gardening helps save a lot of room. They will also discuss which plant varieties work best for vertical gardening. Demonstration Gardens at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Free. 9:30 a.m.
