School district opens transfer process

The Hillsboro School District has announced its plan for participating in the inter-district student transfer process for the 2014-15 school year. Oregon House Bills 2747 and 4007 have modified laws regarding students who want to transfer from other school districts.

Students currently on an approved inter-district transfer list who wish to remain in the Hillsboro School District next school year need to fill out a transfer request, but need not obtain consent from his or her resident district.

Students not currently on an approved inter-district transfer must fill out two forms: one with the resident district requesting a release, and one with the Hillsboro School District requesting to attend. Transfer requests will be taken through June 13.

At that time, if the district has received more requests than there are slots available, there will be an equitable lottery held to determine who will receive the incoming slots and releases.
