Health club offers free education series

The ZOO Health Club in Hillsboro has launched a new health education series to inspire healthy food and fitness in the community.

In partnership with two local businesses, the weekly series — called “We’re Talking Healthy!” — encourages individuals in health and fitness plans by offering a free round-table discussion.

The ongoing education series is free and open to the public and takes place each Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. at the ZOO Health Club, 895 N.E. 25th Ave., Hillsboro.

“We’re Talking Healthy!” offers a different topic for discussion each week, alternating between common food and fitness questions.

Topics in July include “Food, friends, fitness, and social support,” “Are we getting enough nutrition from today’s food?” “Fitness should be fun,” and “The 80/20 food & fitness balance.”

Each week, the 45-minute format offers a short overview of the topic followed by a group discussion.

The ZOO Health Club is a locally owned and operated “neighborhood gym” in Hillsboro, with 24-hour access, cardio and strength equipment and a full roster of group classes for all levels and schedules.
