Deanna Palm, president of the Greater Hillsboro Area Chamber of Commerce, has been named chairwoman of the Portland Community College board for the 2014-15 year.
Palm, who was appointed to the PCC Board in 2009 and then elected in 2011, was sworn in by PCC President Jeremy Brown at the boards July 17 meeting.
A former PCC student, Deanna Palm represents Zone 7, which covers western Washington County. She has been president of the Greater Hillsboro Area Chamber of Commerce since 2001.
The seven-member PCC board represents zones across the college district. PCC is the states largest post-secondary institution, serving about 89,903 full- and part-time students. The 1,500-square-mile PCC district has three comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers and 200 community locations.
