Volunteers from the local Repair Fair team will be on hand to help you get your items back in working order. Play Matters — Head to the Hillsboro Main Library for a discussion about adult play. In our age of inactivity and frequent screen time, what are our kids learning from us about how to be healthy adults? Research shows that play and physical activity can have positive effects on children’s health, well-being and education; it also boosts health and creativity in adults. Includes interactive play for all levels of ability. Free. 6 to 7:30 p.m.

BINGO — The Hillsboro Senior Center, 750 S.E. Eighth Ave., offers Bingo games every Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

Guitar — Hillsboro musician Gayle Ritt will be at the North Plains Public Library to teach attendees about different guitars and their sounds. She’ll also perform her own songs and some covers. 6:30 p.m. Free.

June 24

Queen Coronation — Cornell Estates is bringing the pageantry and enchantment of the Portland Rose Festival to Hillsboro. Portland’s Royal Rosarians will take part in the coronation of the Assisted Living and Retirement Living 2016 Senior Rose Court at Cornell Estates. Dressed in their distinctive white suits, straw hats and gloves, the Royal Rosarians will escort each of the former Cornell Estates’ courts and the current 2016 court into the Party Room. 1:30 p.m.
