Poet discusses craft

Poet Wendy Chin-Tanner visits Hillsboro Monday, Oct. 28 to talk about her work and her writing method. Presented by the Hillsboro group Conversations with Writers, her talk begins at 7 p.m. at the Hillsboro Main Library, 2850 Brookwood Parkway.

Chin-Tanner’s debut collection of poetry, “Turn,” will be published in March 2014 by Sibling Rivalry Press.

“My poems are an attempt to answer my questions about the world and how to live in it,” Chin-Tanner said. “They contain the notes on what I have discovered so far.”

Nominated for the 2012 “Best of the Net” award for work published online, Chin-Tanner’s poems, essays and interviews have appeared in numerous journals.

Chin-Tanner, who lives in Portland, is a founding editor of “Kin Poetry Journal,” and is co-founder of the comic book and graphic novel publishing company A Wave Blue World.
