The Garcia Birthday Band is ringing in the New Year at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, 4045 N.W. Cornelius Pass Road in Hillsboro.

There will be a festively decorated covered and heated spaced in the Imbrie Meadow for music and dancing.

The Portland group interprets and celebrates the repertoire of the late Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead.

The group is more than a “tribute band,” though. The musicians draw from their individual experiences to transform the tunes into their own.

Their playlists include classics from Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Jimmy Cliff, The Meters and many more, appealing to avid fans of bluegrass and rhythm and blues alike and everything in between.

Make sure to put on dancing shoes, because this band keeps the dance floor rocking.

With Arthur Steinhorn on drums, Scott Gillan playing bass and singing, and Justin Pacuska and Jon Sokol on guitars and vocals, this New Year’s celebration won’t be dull.

The show starts at 9 p.m. and is open to all ages.
