“I love the process of creating,” said North Plains artist Timothy Radtke, “and for me, one of the purest ways that I can participate in this process is through painting.”

Inspired by images he sees in nature, Radtke paints in oils. Many of his paintings will be on display at the North Plains Library beginning Jan. 4 and continuing through February.

A reception in his honor is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to the free event to meet the artist and learn more about his work.

“I want my art to be enjoyed by others in the world and in this community,” Radtke said. “The best part about painting is that in the end I have something that I can share with others. Seeing other people enjoy them for the first time inspires me to continue with paint on my hands and a sketchbook in my pocket.”

Library hours are 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.

The library is located at 31360 N.W. Commercial St. in North Plains. For more information, call 503-647-5051.
