“Choices in life lead us to the strangest of places.”

This is the first line in David Taylor’s book, “Peto and the Meaning of Life,” published by Tate Publishing.

Taylor, who now works as an operations analyst at AGC Electronics America in Hillsboro, wrote the book while deployed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from 2011 to 2012.

“While I traveled in the performance of my mission, I battled deeply with certain conclusions I had come to about life and its purpose and meaning,” Taylor wrote to the Hillsboro Tribune. “Once concluded I felt at peace in my allegorical story of a man who thinks he understands all things until his reality is shaken and he has to come to grips with his ego and self.”

The book is now available through major retailers.
