The Hillsboro Chamber is celebrating Hillsboro's agricultural roots with its 4th annual Farm Fresh dinner, slated for Friday, Aug. 18, in the orchards of Denfeld Packing, Inc.
The mission of this event is to connect the long-standing farm industry in the community with the next generation of Hillsboro residents, businesses and local foodies looking to enjoy a relaxing evening in the open air.
Guests will dine in the orchard under the shade of 80-year-old hazelnut trees.
The dinner will showcase local farm-fresh ingredients and the hazelnuts of Denfeld Packing and Laurel Foods will be highlighted in every course — from the cocktails to desserts. Dinner courses will be paired with the wines of Ruby Vineyard, located less than a mile from the orchard.
Adding some friendly competition to the evening, Rogue Spirits Dueling Cocktail Competition will feature two expert mixologists going head-to-head crafting a signature cocktail featuring Rogue's Hazelnut Spiced Rum. Wilson Urteaga of Yellow Llama in Forest Grove and Joni Whitworth of Mint & Mirth will compete for the cocktail crown.
In the Dueling Dessert Competition, Michelle Honeman of Sugar Geek and Michelle Wellness will compete with Brian Stafford of Whole Foods Tanasbourne to craft hazelnut desserts.

The dinner runs from 5 to 9 p.m. and is for those 21 and over only.
