Annual Education Foundation of Forest Grove fundraiser continues with third annual silent auction.

COURTESY PHOTO - The Trail Band includes members Mick Doherty, Phil and Gayle Neuman, Eddie Parente, Marv and Rindy Ross, Cal Scott and Dan Steuber. The Education Foundation of Forest Grove will present Christmas with the Trail Band in the Forest Grove High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13.

FGHS is located at 1401 Nichols Lane.

The Trail Band is an eight-piece ensemble that creates an energetic blend of brass and string arrangements of traditional and original music featuring five vocalists, including Quarterflash's Rindy Ross. Hundreds of public and private appearances across America and Japan, plus seven successful albums have established The Trail Band as the premiere historic music ensemble from the Northwest.

Cornet, tenor horn, tuba, fiddles, hammer dulcimer, guitars, penny whistle, mandolin, piano, saxophone, spoons, bones, drums, bass, and recorders combine with their rich vocal harmonies to create a diverse tapestry of sound.

Also featured will be the foundation's third annual silent auction, slated for 5:30 p.m. before the performance and during intermission. Doors to the concert open at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the event go to students and teachers in the Forest Grove School District in the form of scholarships and education grants that provide support for student programs, materials and activities.

Reserved seating and general admission tickets are on sale now at the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are on sale now at www.brownpapertickets.com. General admission start at $25, and can also be purchased at the school district office, 1728 Main St., and at the door.
