The Hops entered the all-star break on a tear, taking four of five games at Spokane, the Northwest League North Division first-half winner.

With that surge, Hillsboro also jumped into first in the South Division with a 9-4 record, one game up on Salem-Keizer, heading into the resumption of league play.

In one of its most explosive offensive series of the season, Hillsboro scored nine runs or more three times in Spokane and won by six runs or more twice.

Among the highlights, Ryan Doran picked up his final victory as a Hop before being promoted to South Bend in a 9-1 trouncing of the Indians on July 30, and the Hops pounded four home runs, including two from Pedro Ruiz, in a 12-9 win Aug. 2.

Steve Nyisztor went 9-for-21 in five games with seven RBIs, and Grant Heyman batted 8-for-21 with four RBIs.

The Hops round out a three-game series against Eugene tonight and Saturday before hosting Salem-Keizer on Sunday.
