Multiple green remodels and new homes will open their doors around the Portland metropolitan area for the 11th annual Build It Green! home tour and info fair on Sept. 22.

The self-guided tour will give visitors the opportunity to chat with homeowners, designers, do-it-yourselfers and contractors about green roofs, rainwater harvesting, natural landscaping, affordable housing, water and energy conservation, natural building materials, alternative construction techniques and more.

The fair will prelude the home tour featuring an assortment of green home products and services, community resources, demonstrations, food and music. Thirty-minute workshops will be available at the information fair with select homes.

The information fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Green Depot at 819 S.E. Taylor St. The home tour is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at various locations. Home tour ticket prices ranged from $10 to $15. Call 503-222-3881 for more information.
