Tour 50 homes over two weekends
The eighth annual Ultimate Open House Tour opens this weekend
The Ultimate Open House Tour, presented by NW Natural and Standard TV and Appliance, offers two full weekends of house hunting for homebuyers throughout a five-county area. The eighth annual tour runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday and May 3 and 4, and it showcases upwards of 50 homes by more than 20 homebuilders.
The extremely tight home inventory in the Portland metro area makes this years Ultimate Open House Tour a highly anticipated event for homebuyers, said Rachel Trice, vice president of membership services and events for the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland. Our homebuilders are answering that call by providing stunning, newly constructed homes with the latest trends and technology that todays homeowner demands.
Tour homes range in price from $200,000 to just over $1 million, making this a home tour almost everyone can appreciate. The homes are scattered from Forest Grove to Boring and everywhere in between.
As an added incentive this year, the first five people who purchase a natural gas homes will receive a free outdoor gas grill by Napoleon, valued at $1,200, courtesy of NW Natural.
Homebuyers will see that all the homes on the tour are equipped with natural gas connections and appliances, which is a must-have for home buyers, NW Natural Communications Manager Melissa Moore said. Not only does it allow you to have the latest in home equipment trends, it also saves on your heating bills and overall carbon footprint.
Attendees to the Ultimate Open House will see new design debuts and technological advances, including open kitchens with virtually invisible appliances along with unique countertop designs. Other features include fewer walls making entertaining and family time more enjoyable. Homebuyers will notice universal design elements allowing continuous accessibility for all generations.
Three homes on the tour are specifically designed to inspire with highlights ranging from convertible living space, downstairs bonus rooms and the highest energy standards. These homes are made by Gertz Fine Homes, Lake Oswego-based Stone Bridge Homes NW, and Portland Development Group.
The Gertz Fine Home is designed to serve the growing number of families who have their parents or other family members living with them for extended periods. This home accommodates people who need a permanent home, within a home.
The Stone Bridge Home NW features maple with ebony-glazed, finished cabinetry. Enjoy energy efficiency with Advantage Gold Certification. There is also a double-sided gas fireplace, looking onto the covered deck. The cabinets for the kitchen island, powder bath and owners pantry are in Indigo Finish.
Portland Development Groups Energy Star home is located in the Concordia neighborhood in Northeast Portland. It features modern amenities, an open layout and a vintage design. The main level has the dining area, living room with fireplace, and open kitchen with custom cabinets, granite counters and stainless appliances.
The Ultimate Open House Tour is free and open to the public. An event guide is available at the three idea homes and at the HBA office located at 15555 SW Bangy Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97035.
Some of the homes will be fully furnished, some partially furnished and some will not be furnished at all.
All builders in The Ultimate Open House are Home Builders Association members who applied to participate in the tour.
