Join the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission

The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners is seeking interested citizen volunteers to serve three-year terms on the Economic Development Commission (EDC). The county is seeking applicants with expertise in high technology, green business or renewable energy or creative services.

The EDC advises the board on a wide range of issues, including business attraction and retention, transportation, workforce and infrastructure. The county’s economic development plan guides the EDC in its efforts. The board is committed to balance and diversity of commission membership in the areas of geography, employment, interest, education and experience. Applicants from the business community with demonstrated leadership, commitment or expertise in business and economic development are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Dec. 6 before 5 p.m.

Peterson joins Glazer & Associates

Lake Oswego trial lawyer Larry Peterson joined the law firm Glazer & Associates P.C. Peterson has practiced in the Lakeside Plaza building since 1984. His practice emphasizes personal injury, divorce and civil litigation. He also has 28 years of legal service in the United States Army and Army Reserve. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2007.

The Lake Oswego civil litigation firm was founded in 1982. The firm represents clients primarily in personal injury and insurance cases and in divorce cases.

Mark Wada

Wada honored by banking law peers

West Linn resident Mark Wada, founding shareholder of Farleigh Wada Witt, has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2013 in the field of banking law for the fourth consecutive year.

Wada’s practice focuses on representing banks, commercial lenders, private equity funds, equipment lessors and other financial service providers.

Robb receives SMART Recovery Champion of the Year award

Hank Robb, Ph.D., of Lake Oswego received the inaugural SMART Recovery Champion of the Year award at the organization’s annual meeting held in Chicago Sept. 19-21.

Robb was a founding board member of SMART, Self-Management and Recovery Training, and has continued his work locally and nationally.

For a dozen years he has partnered with Portland-area graduate psychology students looking to expand their skills in addressing addictive behavior and, in doing so, expanded the number of face-to-face meetings available in the four-county region.

For the last decade Robb has written a quarterly column for the organization’s “News & Views” as well as presented and published nationally on SMART recovery and addictive behavior.
