Meader photographs national championships

by: RACHAEL MEADER - This photo by Rachael Meader was one of three she submitted that earned her an internship photographing the Intercollegiate Horse Show Associations National Championship. Rachael Meader of Lake Oswego was selected by the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association to photograph the national championship held May 2 to 5 in Harrisburg, Penn.

The competition was open to IHSA members from more than 400 college teams nationwide.

“The IHSA public relations committee opened the contest to individuals who had strong photography skills and would be willing to work as an unpaid intern for four days from dawn to dusk capturing candid photos of riders who had made it to the National Championships,” Meader said.

Meader said she was asked to submit three photographs and answer questions about her photography background. Based on her application she was selected as one of two from thousands of applications.

“I am so excited to have won this opportunity to represent my business in the equine community,” she said.

Meader is a member of IHSA through Rocky Mountain College, where she studied equestrian studies and minored in photography. She has launched Rachael Meader Photography.
