Employees of Guild Mortgage Co. in Lake Oswego launched a campaign to raise funds for Children’s Cancer Association in July 2012 and recently delivered $20,700 to CCA to benefit ill children, teens and adults.

Participants included loan officers Meghan Harvey, Molly Smith and assistant Mikal Mele, known as the M&M Team. At the closing of each month the team calculated their appropriate donations based on number of loans closed and branch manager Patrick Welberg matched each contribution. The Lake Oswego team exceed its goal of $20,000, raising a total of $20,700.

In addition to funds raised, the M&M Team signed up for the FriendRX program, offering one-on-one time with patients during their chemotherapy treatments.

“The sponsorship seemed like a wonderful opportunity to get involved locally and we felt connected to CCA’s mission: prescribing joy to seriously ill children, teens and their families as they battle life-threatening illnesses,” said Harvey.
