Wolf named 2013 Optometric Physician of the Year

David Wolf was awarded the 2013 Optometric Physican of the Year Award in recognition of his service to the optometric profession and his work in the Lake Oswego community. The award was presented at the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association annual meeting held at Salishan Spa and Golf Resort in Gleneden Beach, Ore.

Wolf has practiced in Lake Oswego at Lake Oswego VIsion Clinic since 1998.

He and his wife, Sara, and son, Andre, enjoy golf, travel and sports.

The Springs adds memory care wing

The Springs at Carman Oaks in Lake Oswego has added a memory care wing that will provide 12 apartments and 16 rooms offering private and semi-private care. Katrina Shiroma, executive director at The Springs at Carman Oaks, said the new addition is light and bright, cheerful and comfortable.

Buffaloe joins PlanB Consultancy

John Buffaloe has joined Lake Oswego-based PlanB Consultancy International LLC, as office business manager. He is responsible for global finance and accounting, as well as managing the human resources department.

Buffaloe has a background in public accounting, sales and marketing and international business relations. He is a certified public cccountant in the state of Oregon.

Hallock named to state Board of Agriculture

Stephanie Hallock of Lake Oswego has been appointed by Gov. Kitzhaber to serve as a public member of the State Board of Agriculture. She is the former director of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and has more recently been involved in Oregon Solutions projects.

The State Board of Agriculture advises the Oregon Department of Agriculture on policy issues and development of rules. Board members serve four-year terms with a maximum of two terms.

Tyson Raymond of Helix was also appointed to the board.

Gabriella Armstrong is the new owner, instructor and director of West Linn Kumon Center, 2000 Eighth Ave., suite B in West Linn. She took over the business when the former owner retired. Amit Armstrong serves as business manager.

Matthew Gallery to close; owner to Beach Bum Thrift at Lincoln City

Matthew and Adrian Gerber are closing Matthew Gallery in Lake Oswego and opening Beach Bum Thrift, a thrift/resale shop with emphasis on reasonable prices at 4235 SW Highway 101 in Lincoln City. A grand opening is planned for Oct. 9 from 11 a.m to 5 p.m.

Gerber plans to semi-retire; he will continue to deal and appraise art on a smaller scale. The website, matthewsgallery.com will remain active.

Wells Fargo promotes Goodhue

Wells Fargo has appointed Paul Goodhue as a business specialist in Lake Oswego. He previously worked as a personal banker for Wells Fargo in Lake Oswego for two years. In this new position Goodhue provides small businesses the financial products and services they need to succeed.

He joined Wells Fargo in 2010 as a credit managber in its consumer finance division. He became a personal banker the following year.

Goodhue studied finance and marketing at Gonzaga University. He serves as the business mixer chair for the LeTip of Lake Oswego networking club.
