Cartmill appointed as director of county DOTD

Barbara Cartmill has been appointed director of the Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development. Cartmill was named to the position following a nationwide recruitment. She had been serving as acting director since last May.

Cartmill has been a county employee since 1997 when she started as a land-use planner. She rose through the ranks to become deputy director from 2009 through 2013 before serving as acting director.

She has a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University and an undergraduate degree in economics from PSU.

Attend poolside multi-chamber breakfast

A poolside multi-chamber breakfast will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m. June 6 at Club Sport, 18120 Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard. West Linn chamber schedules networking, business after hours

The West Linn Chamber of Commerce will hold a morning networking from 8 to 9 a.m., June 12 at US Bank, 19060 Willamette Drive in West Linn.

A Business After Hours session will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. June 19 at Curves West Linn, 19129 Willamette Drive in West Linn.

Wells Fargo donated more than $10.1 million

Wells Fargo and its employees made a huge impact on Oregon and southwest Washington communities during 2013. Wells Fargo provided more than $10.1 million worth of support to local schools and nonprofit groups in 2013 to help communities in this region succeed. It was the third straight year that the total exceeded $5 million. The total dollars given in this region included $7.1 million in grants from Wells Fargo and more than $1.5 million in cash gifts from Wells Fargo’s 6,200 employees in Oregon and southwest Washington.

In addition, Wells Fargo employees volunteered 62,789 hours for hundreds of schools and nonprofit agencies in the region. Based on the value of a volunteer’s time, estimated by Indepedent Sector, those hours are equivalent to a $1.4 million donation.
