Attend Ceramic Showcase this weekend

Four local potters will exhibit at the free event

The Oregon Potters Association will hold its 30th annual Ceramic Showcase May 4 through 6 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. This event is the largest sale and show of clay in the U.S. and features more than 150 booths of diverse art for the home, garden and office. Admission is free.

Local potters included in the show are Patrick Noe of West Linn, Sara Swink, Kris Paul and Jim Wylder, all of Lake Oswego.

The event features daily demonstrations of clay techniques by nationally- acclaimed artists; '30 Years in the Great Northwest,' a lobby display featuring work from the last 30 shows; an 'Inspirational Tribute to the Work of Betty Feves' exhibit; separate adult and children's clay area and a gallery of high school ceramics.

A selection of Oregon wines can be sampled from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and again from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Hours of the show are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Music will be featured Friday and Saturday nights.
