The 106th annual Clackamas County Fair opens Aug. 14

The Clackamas County Fair runs Aug. 14 through 19 at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby. This marks the 106th annual fair and features exhibits, agricultural and livestock competitions, rodeo, arts, textiles and much, much more.

Tickets to the fair are $8 for ages 13 through 64, seniors 65 to 74 are $5, juniors ages 8 through 12 are also $5. Those under 8 and older than 75 are admitted free of charge.

The fair is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The fair officially opens Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the raising of the flag ceremony.

Tuesday is Wave Broadband Children’s Day. All children 12 and under are admitted free of charge all day. It is also 2 Kid Tuesday where two children are admitted free to the rodeo with one paid adult general admission ticket. Carnival discounts are available until 6 p.m.

Wednesday is Senior Citizen’s Day and those age 65 through 74 are admitted to the fair for just $2. Children under 12 can also get $2 fair admission rates when accompanied by a grandparent 65 years or older. Look for a coupon on the Canby Rodeo and Clackamas County Fair Facebook pages and receive $1 off general rodeo admission.

Thursday is Oldies 106.7 Day and carnival discounts will be available. You pay one price for rides for each five-hour shift. Individual ride tickets will also be available.

Friday is U.S. Army First Responder’s Day. First Responders are police, fire, paramedics and armed service members in uniform or with service identification. They all get free admission today.

Saturday is Salute to Agriculture Day and Sunday is Fred Meyer Family Day. Two adults and up to four children, ages 12 and under are admitted for $20. Carnival discounts are also available. Pay one price for rides from noon to 5 p.m.

There are plenty of great barbecue meals being served in The Grove throughout the event too. Wednesday and Thursday the foods of Trails End Barbecue Company will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday the Canby Lions Club will serve up BBQ beef sandwiches, corn on the cob, watermelon and a beverage from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday the Oregon City Elks Ladies Auxiliary will serve BBQ chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls and drinks from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday the Stockman’s Association will serve their cowboy breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Power up on scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, hash browns and coffee.
