Relive the pink pageantry starting Nov. 10


Pinkerrific, pinktastic and back by popular demand! Oregon Children’s Theatre returns “Pinkalicious: The Musical” to the Newmark Theatre, 1111 S.W. Broadway, Nov. 10 through Dec. 9.

Sold-out audiences from New York to Portland agree this is a treat worth indulging in.

Relive the pink pageantry or experience it for the first time. Attendees are sure to fall in love with the sweet story about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink. The whole Pinkerton family catches the cupcake craze as they go green — with vegetables — to remedy the situation. Tap dancing doctors, Broadway-style ballads and little brother (Peebles) singing the blues put the icing on the cupcake.

Peeples, now a sophomore at Lake Oswego High School, is in his second year of OCT’s Young Professionals program. When not in rehearsal, doing homework or hanging out with friends, he enjoys running in the rain and playing Dungeons and Dragons.

A special Pink Friday performance is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Nov. 23, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Shop the Black Friday sales and then join the OCT for photos with Pink Santa.

Beginning Nov. 3, Cupcake Jones, located at 307 N.W.Tenth Ave., in Portland will be offering official limited edition Pinkalicious cupcakes, featuring a new fuchsia flavor.

The creative team includes Stan Foote, director; Chris Rousseau, scenic design; Ashton Grace Hull, costume design; Mark LaPierre, lighting design; Duane Rodakowski, sound design; Darcy White, musical director; Sara Mishler Martins, choreography; and Crystall Potter, props master.

Performances are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 5 p.m. from Nov. 10 through Dec. 9. Tickets range in price from $18 to $30 for adults and $15 to $26 for children. Group rates are available. Tickets can be purchased online at octc.org or through the box office at 503-228-9571. The performance is recommended for ages four and up.
