The Season Electric 2012, a holiday musical performance for all ages, will be presented this weekend at The Commons at Marylhurst University. The event features local musicians playing seasonal favorites in a variety of musical styles, including rock, jazz, rhythm and blues, salsa, classical and opera.

Producer and creator Blake Sakamoto (Dan Reed Network/Hit Machine) has created a what event organizers are calling a “high-energy extravaganza bringing together the excitement of a rock concert and the elements of a theatrical production to create a unique event.”

The Season Electric 2012 is made up of: Sakamoto, keyboard and vocals; Steve Adams, electric guitars, acoustic guitar, guitar synthesizer, mandolin and vocals; Brandon Cook, electric guitars, acoustic guitar, vocals; Chael Emmett, six-string bass, vocals; Merrill Hale, drums, electronic drums, percussion; Janet Johannes, vocals; Karen Johnson-Miller, vocals, saxophone; Sharon Bryson, vocals; and special guest, Michael Hermes, guitar.

The Season Electric 2012 is a benefit for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Les Sarnoff Memorial Foundation.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 online at tickettomato.com/event_group.pho?qui=20 or $15 at the door.
