Do you make award-winning chili?

Find out by entering it in the Friends of Tryon Creeks Chili Cook-off Jan. 26

The Friends of Tryon Creek will hold its annual chili cook-off on Jan. 26 and invites all contenders to bring their chili to be tasted in the competition.

The cook-off has become one of the Friends’ favorite annual events as the group opens the doors of the Tryon Creek Nature Center and welcomes the public to enjoy delicious chili creations paired with local microbrews.

The annual cook-off provides a great opportunity to experience the beautiful forest setting of Tryon Creek and toast to a new year filled with the bounty and beauty of the natural world and the warmth of community connections.

Those interested in entering their chili in the cook-off should contact Jessica Sweeney at 503-636-4398, ext 104.

The cook-off will take place on Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. at Tryon Creek Natural Area, 11321 SW Terwilliger Blvd. in Portland. All ages are welcome. The cost is $5 per person; members and volunteer chili chefs are free.
