First Lake Oswego Reads event scheduled for Jan. 31

The Lake Oswego Reads program begins with a screening of the documentary film “Komora: To Heal” co-directed by Emmanuel Habimana and sponsored by National Geographic. The screening will be held Jan. 31 at Lewis & Clark College’s Templeton Center beginning at 7:15 p.m.

Habimana was nine years old during the 1994 Rwandan genocide and his powerful story of survival is told through the documentary.

Today he is committed to a vision of a world that increases in peace, hope and reconciliation.

Habimana was awarded a scholarship at Lewis & Clark College where he is currently enrolled.

A question and answer session will follow the screening. The event is free, however reservations would be helpful; please go to go.lclark.edu/komora to make a reservation.
