Brill will focus on monologues, singing technique, song selection, acting within a song and honing musical theater audition technique.

The master class is geared toward actors interested in auditioning for productions, competitions, professional training and college or conservatory programs.

Some of the participants will have the opportunity to perform with Brill in his cabaret performance April 15 as a benefit performance for LTC’s Rising Stars program, which provides education and performance opportunities for emerging talent.

Class participants should prepare two contrasting songs and monologues as they will be asked to perform approximately 16 to 32 bars of one song and a 2-minute monologue.

Brill will work with each participant with monologues and acting on Saturday and then focus on prepared vocal selections on Sunday.

Cost of the master class is $125. Those wishing to observe only may do so for $15 each day or $25 for both days. Registration is limited; call 503-635-3901 to register.

Brill, currently on tour in the role of Boq in “Wicked,” is a graduate of Carnegie Melon University School of Drama, where he received the Charles Willard Award for Excellence in Musical Theater. His Broadway credits include “All Shook Up,” “Rent” and “High Fidelity.” Other productions include a national tour with “Beauty and the Beast,” “Mamma Mia!” and “Monty Python’s Spamalot” in Las Vegas.
