See handmade musical instruments at Marylhurst show

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Attendees view fretless guitars at the Northwest Handmade Musical Instrument Exhibit. The 37th annual Northwest Handmade Musical Instrument Exhibit will be held April 27 and 28 from noon to 5 p.m. in Clark Commons and Wiegand Recital Hall on the Marylhurst University campus.

More than 80 artisans from the Pacific Northwest will display all types of guitars, bowed and stringed instruments, mandolins, banjos, flutes and ancient instruments.

In addition to newly made instruments the exhibit will include a select group of older instruments called “The Venerables.” Activities include special woodworking and instrument-making demonstrations and a wide variety of musical performances.

Admission is $3; children younger than 12 are admitted free of charge.
