Portland Actors Ensemble will present two free summer productions, “The Merchant of Venice” and “The Tale of Cymbeline” in area parks.

Both shows will be performed at a variety of locations and are free and open to all. The complete schedule is available online at

“The Merchant of Venice” will run June 13 through July 20. A performance is planned for Marylhurst University on July 20 beginning at 6 p.m.

“The Tale of Cymbeline” will run for seven weeks beginning July 20. It will be presented at Marylhurst University on Aug. 3 at 6 p.m.

The mission of PAE is to bring financially accessible classical theater to Portland communities in a variety of environments. PAE began performing free Shakespeare-in-the-Parks productions in 1970 and is run by a volunteer board. PAE is funded by grants and donations and is a 501 (c) 3 organization.
