Unscriptables present "USS Improvise: The Next Generation"

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Charles Weinert and Trenton Shine appear in The Unscriptables musical version of 'USS Improvise: The Next Generation.' The show is presented each Saturday through July 27 at the Funhouse Lounge in Portland. Last season The Unscriptables created the improvised format of “USS Improvise: The Next Generation,” and this year they will present the show as a musical.

“All shows and songs are improvised, and with full costumes and props,” said Trenton Shine, artistic director for The Unscriptables. “You might see Riker croon about his yearning for the captain’s chair, Councilor Troi deliver a tune about her feelings or Worf sing about the joys of being a Klingon. Because it’s improv, anything can happen and every show is different.”

The performances will take place Saturdays at 8 p.m. through July 27 at the Funhouse Lounge, 2432 SE Eleventh Street in Portland.
