Shakespeare and musical performances highlight outdoor theater offerings

Portland “Mistress of Soul” LaRhonda Steele will open the second season of Marylhurst University’s Summer on the Green event series, which features six music and theater performances in an outdoor campus setting during July and August.

The Lajos Balogh Performance Shell, constructed in 2012, will host three Shakespeare plays and three diverse groups of musicians in summer afternoon and evening performances. All performances are free and open to the public, and there is no charge for parking on the Marylhurst campus. Bring a picnic and enjoy theater and music under the sun and stars.
