Pine Shed Ribs expands, adds new dining area
A new dining area is the final touch for Pine Shed Ribs of Lake Oswego for its first anniversary.
Chef Matt Ramey's ribs, chicken, brisket, and sausage have made a big impact on local barbecue lovers, and they now have an indoor sit-down place in which to feast on these delicious delicacies.
'We were always hearing, 'Gosh, it would be nice if we had a place to sit,' ' Ramey said. 'Now we have one. In just a week we've seen what a big difference this place has made. We had a test run before Christmas and it went just great. We're going to add decorations and improvements.'
In addition to lunchers, the Pine Shed can now host parties, banquets and business gatherings.
'Lake Oswego residents have really welcomed us,' said Jennifer Peterson, business manager and 'upfront personality extraordinaire.' 'In return we have helped the community, with school projects, Project Pooch, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.'
Ramey has supplemented his barbecue with tasty sidedishes like macaroni-and-cheese (which he worked long to perfect) and desserts like fruit cobbler. Basically, though, the food is the same as it has been since Ramey first brought his talents to Lake Oswego to open Logan's Barbecue.
'The most important thing we've done is not to change the menu,' Ramey said.
But he does launch an occasional experiment, like barbecued pastrami sandwiches.
The official first year anniversary day for Pine Shed Ribs will be on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.
'Our first year has gone well above our expectations,' Ramey said.
'I can't believe it has been a year,' Peterson said. 'We're excited about 2012. We couldn't have a better location.'
The Shed has even come in for some national acclaim.
'A barbecue judge from Kansas City said we would get a gold medal for our sauce if he was judging us for a contest,' Ramey said.
