Jeff Wood, the new organist at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, will present his debut concert Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at the church, 4040 Sunset Drive in Lake Oswego.

The program, “Organ History 101: 500 Years of Repertoire in 60 Minutes or Less,” will feature a broad variety of pieces from Renaissance dances to works by Bach, Buxtehude, Clerambault, Vaughan Williams and Langlais. The closing number is a jazz arrangement of “Joshua Fit the Battle” by Connecticut organist Joe Utterback.

The public is invited to attend the concert, played on the church’s recently renovated 1,500 pipe instrument. An offering will be received to support further improvements to the organ.

Wood recently moved from the East Coast, where he was a soloist and accompanist, performing with groups such as the Connecticut Chamber Choir, Boston College Chorale and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
