The Classic Ballet Academy will ring in the holiday season with a full scale production of “The Nutcracker” Dec. 12 through 15 at Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall.

“Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, brilliant dancing, costumes, sets and choreography, come together to create a magical storybook world,” said Sarah Rigles, director of Classic Ballet Academy. “ Audiences of all ages will enjoy Clara’s journey, with spirited party children, roguish rats, elegant dancers from around the world and snowflakes come to life in the dazzling world of the Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy.”

The show includes West Linn dancers Michaela Laughlin and Madelyn Turner and Lake Oswego dancers Chloe Erlandson, Sydney Erlandson, Elena Yragen, Elyse Kronqist and Eva Augst.

Performances are set for 8 p.m. Dec. 12, 2 p.m. Dec. 13, 6 p.m. Dec. 14 and 4 p.m. Dec. 15.

Tickets are $18 for children 9 and under and seniors and $24 for adults. They can be purchased online at or at the PSU box office, 1825 SW Broadway in Portland. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The box office phone number is 503-725-3307.
